Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Cell Biology Scientist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cellular biology, immunology, and/or bioengineering with hands-on experience developing and characterizing cell-based therapies. This role will contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to advance novel therapeutic programs from discovery through early-stage development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop and optimize cell therapy platforms.

  • Perform cell culture, genetic modification, expansion, cryopreservation and functional characterization of cell lines.

  • Develop assays for cell and cell/biomaterial combination characterization and process validation.

  • Develop, implement, and document experimental protocols, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility following Good Documentation Procedures.

  • Author and review technical reports, batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory documentation.

  • Support technology transfer activities to internal manufacturing sites or external contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs).

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align development activities with project goals, timelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Troubleshoot process-related issues during development, scale-up, and manufacturing campaigns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in research, process development, analytical sciences, regulatory, and clinical operations.

  • Contribute to the development of scalable processes suitable for clinical and commercial manufacturing.

  • Analyze, interpret, and present scientific data to internal teams and external collaborators.

  • Author technical reports, study summaries, and contribute to regulatory filings as needed.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in the cell therapy field.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or a related field with 0–3 years of postdoctoral/industry experience; or M.S. with 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong background in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.

  • Hands-on experience with adherent and suspended cell lines.

  • Familiarity with genetic engineering techniques (e.g., viral and non-viral transduction, electroporation).

  • Direct experience with cryopreservation, recovery, and stability testing cell products.

  • Proficiency in multiparameter flow cytometry and functional cellular assays.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to design and troubleshoot experiments independently.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with process development for cell therapy manufacturing, including scale-up and closed-system technologies.

  • Knowledge of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for cell and gene therapy products.

  • statistical methods.

  • Experience contributing to IND-enabling studies or regulatory documentation.
